My Tribute to mom:

Though saying goodbye breaks my heart, I find comfort in God’s Word:

“The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.”

Genesis 31:49

Distance may separate us, but love does not fade. I thank God for every moment we shared, and I pray that He surrounds you with His peace, favour and protection. Until we meet again, know that you will always hold a special place in my heart.

Mom, thank you for bringing me into this world, raising me, caring for me and loving me so deeply. You were a woman of extraordinary strength, grace and faith. You raised four boys with unwavering love, teaching us Christian values that shaped our character and continue to guide our lives today.

I will especially miss the precious moments we shared when you stayed with me during some of your visits. I will forever cherish our conversations, our laughter, the times we sat together watching Nollywood movies, and the moments we spent in prayer. Those simple times became some of my most treasured memories.

Your love knew no boundaries. You opened your heart and home to members of our extended family, caring for them, instilling discipline, offering guidance and loving them as you loved your own children.

Your commitment to family was not something you merely spoke about; it was something you lived every day.

I have fond memories of your strength and determination while we were growing up. You protected us fiercely and stood beside Dad through every difficult season, offering him the same steadfast support you gave to all of us. Through every challenge, your faith in God never wavered, and your example continues to inspire me.

You have left a mark on my life that can never be erased. I was not ready for your departure. I had made plans to come and visit you shortly before you left this world, and the pain of not having that opportunity has been deeply devastating.

Yet even though you are no longer with us physically, your influence remains. Your lessons, your prayers, your love and your example live on in all of us whose lives you touched.

Mom, I honour you today and always. You were a remarkable mother, a devoted wife, and a shining light in our lives. Your legacy will forever be a part of me, and your memory will remain in my heart for as long as I live.

Sleep well, Mummy, until we meet to part no more.
